Working for everyone in Croydon

Croydon Liberal Democrat Manifesto 2010

Fairness, freedom and accountability

Croydon Town Hall

The Liberal Democrats want to build a fair, free and open society, in which no one is enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity.

We believe in making government more local: taking more powers from Whitehall and giving them to borough councils, with local councils giving more powers to local communities.

Labour and the Conservatives have made a mess of running Croydon for long enough; it's time for a change.

Sutton borough council, next door to Croydon, has been run by the Liberal Democrats for 24 years. Sutton shows how much better Croydon could be under the Liberal Democrats.
The oneplace website1 reports that in Croydon the percentage of residents who are satisfied with the way the council runs things is average compared with all English councils. In Sutton, it's in the top 20% 2.
