Housing

We pledge:

To respect the needs of existing communities and their environments
To challenge, as unworkable, Boris Johnson's plans to crowd an extra 20,000 homes into Croydon
To ensure impact on local residents is always taken fully into consideration when looking at any major planning application

Under Tory mayor Boris Johnson's housing plans, Croydon has been allocated more than its fair share of new development, even though there is little suitable building space because so much of Croydon is protected green belt.

Croydon Liberal Democrats believe in protecting residents from the impact of new developments by ensuring adequate road access, public transport, local school places, play spaces, green spaces and leisure facilities.
