Wind power

We pledge:

To protect green belt land and garden sites from development
To encourage reduction in carbon emissions, moving towards carbon neutrality within all council services
To encourage reduction in energy consumption through insulation schemes and through the elimination of wastage, not forgetting to give attention to the operation of the council and its services
To extend recycling schemes wherever practical
To encourage re-use schemes
To encourage composting
To clean up fly-tipping hot spots swiftly as they arise, and to catch and punish offenders
Where incineration cannot be ruled out, to consult widely about where an incinerator should be located, and to ensure that safety standards are high and met beyond reproach
