Simon Rix, your Candidate for Croydon South
Dear Croydon South voter,
This election is your last chance to have a say on the MPs' expenses scandal. Our current Tory MP - Richard Ottaway - still refuses to pay back the £85,000 he has taken for his second home since 2004. He took this money just to avoid the 30-minute commute into Westminster. And he is still refusing to tell us how much more of our money he took before 2004.
Can this be right? Most people say no.
No wonder many local Conservatives are totally fed up with Mr Ottaway and are voting for me because they do not like being taken for granted by Mr Ottaway, and because they know if I win, my vote will be for a new, fresh government on Friday.
Even a former Conservative MP who lives in Croydon South has told me he is voting for me to get Ottaway out.
You may have seen the Croydon Advertiser newspaper last week which reported on current polls that put me and Mr Ottaway neck and neck, with Labour down in a poor third. So if you want a new, better MP and a new, better government, then please vote for me tomorrow. If you have already voted, please ask your family and friends to vote for me.
If I am elected I will get stuck in, straight away, to clean up our area. There are some places the Council has ignored for too long. I want to see a big crackdown on anti-social behaviour, more youth centres to give young people something positive to do, more police patrols and tough action on those who don't play by the rules.
Our current MP does not seem to spend much time in the area, and he feels reluctant to criticise his own party colleagues on the Council. You won't find the same with me. If I'm elected I will be out and about in the constituency on Friday to discuss these issues with local people and to start the job of making our area safer and better.
Yours sincerely,
Simon
