Ejnar grew up in Addiscombe and has lived in the ward for most of his life. He has witnessed the increasing Londonisation of the area in this time and understands the importance of keeping its character.
Ejnar has campaigned on several local Lib Dem initiatives, including saving post offices and campaigning for fairer taxes, and has taken up case work on behalf of individual residents.
"My past experiences of dealing with Croydon Council were very poor. I would like to see a council that actually works to support the people it is meant to represent. I am also concerned about the over-development and proposed over-development of the local area, and will do my best to fight against it."
An active Liberal Democrat since the 1980s, Tomas is a transportation project manager who has been part of the community in Addiscombe for nearly 20 years.
Tomas contributes to Croydon's Neighbourhood Partnerships Team as a critic of policies affecting the ward and borough. He has organised opposition to the Menta mega-housing development which would have blighted the area.
"We successfully campaigned against the council's scheme to turn East Croydon into a forest of skyscrapers. Those development plans were entirely out of proportion with the surrounding area and would have put untold strain on local services, roads and public transport. This battle will continue after local elections. Lib Dems have been the only party effective in opposing this scheme and our presence on the council is needed to put a stop to these plans once and for all."
Chris Adams has lived in Croydon for two decades and in Addiscombe for over 10 years. Chris, a publisher, is married and has two young children who attend school within the ward.
Chris sits on the boards of charities working in aid of war veterans and university scholarships. He contributes to the MET Police's Communities Together Strategic Engagement Team. Chris is a governor at the school his children attend and is a member of the Liberal Democrat Christian Forum.
"Addiscombe provides a good environment in which to raise families, but the visible increase in fly-tipping and property damage, coupled with inadequate council services, is threatening the area's good character. New voices are needed to represent the community on a council which has taken residents for granted for too long. The situation has to change now before things get any worse."
