Deadline to object to East Croydon Tower Extended *DON'T DELAY*
April 23, 2011 6:01 PM
A new planning application has been submitted for the Cherry Orchard Road site next to East Croydon station. It includes about 500 new homes, a hotel and mixed office and retail units.
Menta developers want to build:
- a 53-storey residential skyscraper
- a 25-storey hotel with retail units
- a 12-storey office block
- a 5-storey block and 10-storey tower on Oval Road corner to include 72 flats and a community hall
Residents only have until 20 July to comment or object before Croydon Council's final decision.
"The number of residents' comments will be a key factor on if and how the scheme goes ahead," said local campaigner Tomas Howard-Jones. "Planners must consider the concerns of local people. We urge everyone to respond."
