Liberal Democrat plans for a "pupil premium" would see a cash injection of an extra £23 million into Croydon's schools. This would raise funding levels to those of private schools - giving every child a fair start.
Increased education funding for all means smaller class sizes, more one-to-one tuition, more catch-up classes and more help for those pupils who need it most.
Peter Lambell, parliamentary candidate for Croydon Central says, "school funding is always a Liberal Democrat priority, no less so in this current disastrous economy. Investing in education now will ensure our children's, and the country's, future."
Croydon's extra school funding is part of a £2.5bn Lib Dem pledge to improve schools across Britain. The money needed to fund our future will come from cutting government quangos and reforming the tax credit system. This funding will come in 2012.
Drastic cuts planned by the Tories would put school funding under threat.
